Contemporary Elegance
The Chassé project, completed in 2023 in Quebec City, is a full kitchen renovation aimed at bringing modernity, brightness, and functionality to a central space in the home. The primary objective was to reorganize the area to maximize natural light while optimizing storage and work surfaces.
Materials
Chosen for its smooth, modern finish, lacquered MDF offers durability and easy maintenance—ideal for a kitchen. Its uniform surface allows for beautiful color application, adding a refined look.

Lacquered MDF
The quartz countertop was chosen for its exceptional durability, stain resistance, and clean aesthetic. Ideal for a kitchen where functionality and style must coexist.

Quartz Silestone
This countertop, located in the space under the stairs, features an impeccable wood look. Since this shelf is in an enclosed area, laminate is a more cost-effective choice.

Wood-Effect Laminate
The gold handles add an elegant and modern touch to the kitchen's drawers and cabinets. The matte gold finish of these handles subtly contrasts with the white panels, lending a luxurious appearance without being overly flashy.

Creativity and Design

Maximize space, functionality, and brightness
Our client wanted a kitchen that was both timeless and modern, featuring high-quality materials while bringing more natural light into the room. She needed to maximize storage space and work surfaces, accommodating large appliances (36-inch range, oven, and a sizable fridge). Additionally, she desired a welcoming breakfast nook for daily use

Free up a wall without sacrificing functionality
The greatest challenge was freeing up a wall to install a large patio door without compromising the kitchen’s functionality. We needed to integrate large appliances while maintaining ample storage and workspace. Another challenge lay in utilizing the space under the stairs, which we transformed into a walk-in pantry.
Redefining the Space
The original kitchen was positioned against a wall with a small window, limiting the amount of natural light in the space.
Our designer had the bold idea to relocate the entire kitchen, freeing up space for a large patio door. This change not only increased the natural light throughout the kitchen but also created a spectacular sense of openness.
With this new layout, natural light floods the room all day long, and the stunning view of the pool and garden adds a calming aesthetic dimension. This redesign has completely transformed the kitchen’s atmosphere, infusing it with a bright and spacious new energy.
The Result: A Bright and Spacious Kitchen
Thanks to this strategic reorganization, the space is not only more functional but also more enjoyable, striking the perfect balance between modern design and daily comfort.
