Green Kitchen Design: Boldness and “Wow” Factor
The secret behind this design? Audacity in a kitchen full of character.
Get the “Wow” Effect
After two unsuccessful design attempts elsewhere, the client wanted to finally fall in love with her kitchen. She was looking for something high-end, elegant, and truly different: a space both classic and bold, one that would reflect her personality.
Under the direction of our designer, Marjorie Côté, this project became a masterclass in boldness and design expertise.
This green kitchen strikes the perfect balance between daring design and refined elegance.
Designing Around Existing Constraints
It’s not unusual for certain technical decisions to be set before a project even begins.
In this case, the designer had to work around:
- The island plumbing
- The pot filler
- The Sub-Zero refrigerator placement and upper grille
The challenge was to create a cohesive layout around these fixed elements while preserving balance, flow, and visual harmony.

Design highlights
The Green
A green-colored kitchen is a bold choice, but here, it is perfectly mastered. The shade of green chosen by the designer fits within the mid-century aesthetic.
Rich and warm, this shade retains all the refinement of a high-end kitchen — a choice that feels both visionary and timeless.
Maple-finish cabinet interior
This option, slightly more expensive than standard finishes, was the obvious choice. The maple-look finish elevates the overall look of the kitchen and creates a flawless contrast with the green cabinetry.
This kind of detail changes everything — subtle, yet essential to the perceived quality of the design.
Reversed dowels
The dowels are a direct nod to mid-century design, but here they’re reinterpreted: reversed profiles reveal the concave curve on the outside.
It adds depth and a unique character to the space, turning the island into a true statement piece.
Machined brass hood
To achieve an exceptional finish, simply adding a decorative strip wasn’t an option. The brass was machined directly into the hood’s surface for a perfectly precise, seamless result.
This level of precision reflects the attention to detail and the standard of excellence we strive for in every project.
